Sonam Srivastava

Sonam is a senior patent consultant with BRB Legal and a registered Indian patent agent. She has fifteen years of experience in drafting, filing and prosecuting patent applications in several jurisdictions; patentability, freedom-to-operate and invalidity searches and analysis; and patent portfolio and landscape analysis.

She holds a B.Tech in Biotechnology from Uttar Pradesh Technical University and a Post Graduate Diploma in Patent and Intellectual Property Laws (US and India), Processes and Services from the Global Institute of Intellectual Property, Delhi, and qualified the Indian Patent Agent Examination in 2010. She has worked as a patent consultant with Patint Solutions India, the Global Institute of Intellectual Property and Jubilant Chemsys, and for some years independently on patent projects for companies and research institutions.

She worked briefly with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in Geneva as an IP business expert, on a project on blockchain-based global identification. Her technical fields include computer networks and internet systems, mobile communication, biomedical devices, automobile systems, home automation, mechanical engineering, biotechnology and information technology. She also advises organisations on protecting and exploiting their intellectual property, building and maintaining portfolios, and questions of ownership and valuation.
