Terms of Use
Last updated: [date of publication, set at go-live]
1. These terms
These terms govern your use of www.brb-legal.com (the "Website"), which is operated by BRB Legal, a law firm with its office at Z-29, Block Z, Hauz Khas, New Delhi – 110016, India ("BRB Legal", "we", "us"). By using the Website you agree to these terms, to our Disclaimer and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Website.
2. Information, not legal advice
The Website is provided for general information about BRB Legal and about the law, in keeping with the rules of the Bar Council of India, which do not permit advocates to advertise or solicit work. Nothing on it is legal advice or an offer to provide legal services.
- Articles, FAQs and other content state the law as we understood it on the date shown. The law changes, and its effect depends on the facts. Do not act, or refrain from acting, on anything on the Website without taking advice on your own situation.
- Using the Website, writing to us, or completing a legal health check does not create a lawyer–client relationship. We act for a client only after a conflict check and once terms of engagement have been agreed in writing.
- The reports we send after a legal health check are based only on your answers, without any review of your documents, and are not a legal opinion, an audit or a certification.
3. Confidential information
Please do not send us confidential or sensitive information through the Website, by email or through a health check before we have agreed to act for you. Until then, we may not be able to treat what you send as confidential or privileged, and receiving it does not prevent us from acting for another party in the same matter.
4. Your personal data and your duties under the DPDP Act
How we collect, use and protect your personal data is explained in our Privacy Policy, which is published under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the SPDI Rules, 2011, and gives the notice required by the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (the "DPDP Act") and the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025 as their provisions come into force.
When you give us personal data, or exercise your rights as a Data Principal, section 15 of the DPDP Act requires you to:
- comply with the law while doing so;
- not impersonate another person;
- not suppress material information when providing personal data for any document or proof issued by the State;
- not register a false or frivolous grievance or complaint with us or with the Data Protection Board of India; and
- give only verifiably authentic information when you ask us to correct or erase your personal data.
If you give us personal data about someone else, for example a colleague or a counterparty, you confirm that you are entitled to do so and that they have been told about our Privacy Policy.
5. Using the Website
You may view, download and print pages for your own information, and quote short extracts with a clear acknowledgement of BRB Legal and a link to the page. You must not:
- copy, republish or sell substantial parts of the Website, or present its content as your own;
- use the Website for any unlawful purpose, or in breach of the Information Technology Act, 2000;
- try to gain unauthorised access to the Website, its servers or any connected system, introduce malicious code, or disrupt it (including by excessive automated requests); or
- use the BRB Legal name or logo in a way that suggests we endorse you, your products or your services.
Search engines and AI services may index the Website and summarise it, as our robots.txt and llms.txt files allow, provided they attribute the source and link to it.
6. Intellectual property
The text, design and arrangement of the Website, and the BRB Legal name and logo, belong to BRB Legal. The photographs of Indian monuments and cities are public-domain works, listed on our Image sources page, used and adapted by us. The fonts are used under the SIL Open Font License.
7. Translations
The language button uses Google Translate to produce machine translations. They may be inaccurate. The English version of every page prevails, and we are not responsible for errors in a translation.
8. Links to other websites
The Website links to other websites, including court and government websites, Google Forms, Wikimedia Commons and social networks. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices.
9. Availability and changes
We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of the Website at any time. We try to keep it accurate and available, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or up to date.
10. Liability
To the extent the law allows, BRB Legal is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, the Website or its content, or from your inability to use it. Nothing in these terms excludes any liability that cannot be excluded under Indian law.
11. Grievance Officer
Questions and complaints about the Website, its content or these terms can be sent to our Grievance Officer at info@brb-legal.com, or by post to Z-29, Block Z, Hauz Khas, New Delhi – 110016. We will acknowledge a complaint promptly and try to resolve it within one month.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows when they were last changed. Continuing to use the Website after a change means you accept the updated terms.
13. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at New Delhi have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of them or out of your use of the Website.
