Garv Malhotra

Overview

Garv is of counsel to BRB Legal. He is an international disputes lawyer and an Indian litigator, and helps clients avoid and resolve disputes. His practice focuses on business law disputes and international arbitration.

He started his career as a junior counsel to an Advocate-on-Record at the Supreme Court of India in New Delhi, and then worked and trained at disputes practices in Europe and Asia before co-founding a disputes boutique in India. He has acted for individuals, companies and state-owned entities in matters governed by Indian, Singapore and English law, under the SIAC, ICC, UNCITRAL and LCIA rules and in ad hoc arbitrations, in person and online. He also conducts domestic arbitrations under Indian law, and has experience of mediation.

His matters have involved international trade in goods and services; the construction of buildings, vessels, highways and dams; new technologies; aviation; corporate affairs; energy; and aerospace.

He teaches and speaks at universities in Asia, including the National Law School of India University, Bangalore, Gujarat National Law University and the National University of Singapore, and at conferences, including a UNCITRAL–GNLU international conference. He has also studied at The Hague Academy of International Law (on the Mayor’s Scholarship), the Paris Academy of Arbitration and the Singapore Investment Arbitration Academy. Outside the law, he is a keen traveller and enjoys languages.
