DPDP Act FAQs

What is the right of nomination?

It lets you nominate another individual who can exercise your rights under the Act on your behalf if you die or become incapable of exercising them yourself, for example through unsoundness of mind or infirmity of body. It is a practical provision that addresses a real gap: without it, personal data held by a service provider can become effectively frozen when the individual concerned is no longer able to act.
