Design FAQs
I thought I got copyright protection as soon as I created the design; why do I need design registration then?
You need design registration because under Section 15(2) of the Indian Copyright Act, copyright protection for an original design ends as soon as the design is reproduced more than 50 times by an industrial process without being registered under the Designs Act, 2000.
